Modifying Instrument Location

In Proqio, each instrument is associated with a specific location within your project. At times, sensors may need to be relocated due to site changes, equipment adjustments, or monitoring optimization. Updating the instrument’s location in Proqio ensures that its position is accurately recorded, helping users maintain clarity on the exact placement of each instrument for reliable analysis and reporting.

Modifying Instrument Location

Module Overview:

In Proqio, instrument locations can be updated whenever sensors are not positioned correctly, have been relocated, or require adjustments due to equipment changes or monitoring optimization. This can be done easily by following a simple procedure.

This module contains the following:

 

Common Use Cases for Updating Instrument Location

  1. Incorrect Initial Placement – When a sensor was not positioned at the correct site or structure during set-up.

  2. Relocation of Sensors – When instruments are physically moved to a new position within the project.

  3. Equipment Adjustments – When the setup changes, maintenance taking place, or upgrades being implemented requires the repositioning of sensors.

  4. Site or Project Changes – When structural modifications, expansions, or environmental factors demand updated sensor placement.

How to Modify Instrument Location

You can update an instrument’s location in Proqio using different methods listed below: 

1) Update Location by Changing Coordinates

  1. Navigate to the Monitoring section from the left-hand panel.

  2. Select the instrument whose location you want to update.

  3. Open the Setup tab and go to the Location section.

  4. Replace the existing coordinates with the exact coordinates of the instrument’s current position.

  5. Click Save to confirm the update.

Tip: For accuracy, always use the exact coordinate system defined for your project (e.g., WGS 84 (EPSG:4326)). This ensures that instruments are placed precisely at their actual physical location within Proqio.


2) Update location through instrument set-up 

  • Navigate to the instrument for which you want to update the coordinates.

  • Go to the Location section in the Setup tab.

  • Select the Location Tool. You can then manually update the location by scrolling and adjusting within the map box.


 3) Update Instrument Location in Bulk

To update location for multiple instruments at the same time :

  1. Download the setup information template by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the Upload CSV option.

  2. Select and download the template for the instruments you want to modify.

  3. Update the coordinate values in the template.

  4. Re-upload the updated template using the Upload CSV option.
