Georeferenced Auxiliary Layers – Accepted Formats & Upload Process

Proqio allows you to enhance your project’s Map View with georeferenced auxiliary layers, providing additional spatial context such as site layouts , geological maps or satellite imagery.

This article applies specifically to georeferenced auxiliary layers.

ℹ️ Non-georeferenced auxiliary layers can be uploaded directly via the Proqio UI.
The process below applies only to layers that contain spatial reference information.

Accepted File Formats (Georeferenced Only)

We currently accept the following file formats for georeferenced auxiliary layers:

  • .tif (GeoTIFF)

  • .kml

  • .kmz

  • .dwg

Please ensure your file is provided in one of these formats prior to submission. If you want to submit a different format, please consult the support team.

Mandatory Requirements

To ensure accurate positioning within your project, all submitted files must meet the following criteria:

  • Georeferenced file – The file must already contain valid spatial reference information.

  • Coordinate system provided – The exact coordinate system of the file must be clearly specified (e.g., EPSG code or full coordinate system name).

With this information we will be able to correctly align the layer in your project.

Additional Manipulation or Custom Processing

If the auxiliary layer requires any processing beyond a straightforward upload (for example: coordinate system conversion, restructuring, cropping, styling, or other data adjustments), this must be reviewed in advance.

Such requests:

  • May require additional processing time.

  • May incur additional costs depending on the scope of work.

Our team will always confirm feasibility, timeline, and any potential cost implications before proceeding.

If you are unsure whether your file qualifies as georeferenced or meets the submission requirements, please contact Proqio Support and we will be happy to assist you.
