Digital Twin Module
The Digital Twin module in Proqio enables users to visualize and interact with a virtual representation of real-world assets and infrastructure. It combines geospatial data, monitoring instruments, and project information into a unified digital environment, allowing users to better understand asset behaviour in context.
Why is this functionality useful?
Infrastructure projects generate complex datasets that are often difficult to interpret in isolation. The Digital Twin module helps bridge the gap between raw data and real-world understanding by providing a visual and contextual layer over monitoring information.
With this module, users can:
- Visualize assets and instruments in a spatial, 3D or model-based environment.
- Understand how different data sources relate to physical infrastructure.
- Improve interpretation of monitoring results through visual context.
- Support better communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enhance decision-making by connecting data directly to real-world structures.
Feature Highlights
Unified Asset Visualization
The Digital Twin brings together project assets, instruments, and geospatial data into a single visual model, providing a structured overview of the monitored environment.
Data Overlay Integration
Monitoring data such as sensor readings, alerts, and thresholds can be visualized directly on top of the digital representation of the asset.
Contextual Understanding
Users can explore infrastructure elements in relation to their physical position and surrounding environment, improving interpretation of complex behaviours.
Enhanced Monitoring Insight
By linking data to spatial representation, users can more easily identify patterns, anomalies, and relationships between different monitoring points.
Please note that the Digital Twin module is an additional Proqio module, and therefore is not included in the standard platform subscription. Activating and implementing this module in your project will imply an additional fee.
Supported file formats:
- For 3D Models: FBX, OBJ, GLB/glTF
- For BIM Models: IFC
- For InSARs/LiDARs: LAS/LAZ
- Raster Overlays: GeoTIFF/.tif
- OGC 3D Tiles
- Gaussian Splats
How does it work?
Step 1: Configure the Digital Twin
The Digital Twin is set up within a Proqio project by linking client-provided asset models, geospatial data, and instrument configurations.
Step 2: Visualize the Model
Users access the Digital Twin interface to explore the asset and view monitoring data overlaid on the virtual representation.
Step 3: Analyse and Interact
Users can interact with the model to inspect specific areas, review instrument readings, and analyse spatial relationships between data points.
Key Benefits
- Improved understanding of complex infrastructure systems.
- Centralized visualization of assets and monitoring data.
- Faster identification of anomalies and patterns.
- Enhanced collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
- More intuitive interpretation of geotechnical and structural behaviour.
